Speedfriending is the form speed dating takes in Boston when the odds are 6 women to every 1 man.
We had a list of questions to choose from. In one instance, I sat across from someone and after the 30 seconds of small talk we moved onto the question list. Our conversation wasn't off to a good start when the first question asked was followed with a one word off-putting answer. I tried again with what he'd do if he wasn't afraid which was followed by his assuring me he wasn't afraid of anything and would do most anything. Fear just isn't part of his life. I laughed and said I'd be afraid of skydiving, but if I didn't have fear I'd do it, because I would probably enjoy it more. He slipped in some facts about terminal velocity of skydiving (thanks for that) and kept talking. I interrupted and said no really, what would you do if you weren't afraid? He said no consequences or risk? Intrigued, I assured him there would be none of that.
"I'd fight a bear."
