if there's only one goal I keep this year...vlog
*Since my birthday, it seems all of my life has most closely resembled a 52-card pickup. Ending last year, the only goal I kept was my running 8 miles/week. I started off this year with great ideas, but have only proceeded half-heartedly. I stopped exercising completely, engorged on bad foods, and have been sleeping irregularly.
I mention this to mostly realize that it's ok to have a bad season in which I don't get everything done as productively and efficiently as the year before. "Times and seasons" is a true principle in all aspects of my life: physical, spiritual, emotional. I'm confident all 52 cards will get back into an ordered deck, but it may just take more time than I would like. In the meantime...*
The one goal I will keep this year is a collaborative goal with a friend of mine to video-blog (vlog) every month this year. Brady and I have known each other since 2004. He wanted to get better at editing video, and I wanted to figure out vlogs. Our powers combined have led to the creation of "Say Hey, Doctor K" where we will post video near the end of the month, every month in 2014. We work together to brainstorm topics, where things should get trimmed or cut but mostly the lion's share of the work in editing, producing, uploading, tweeting, youtubing and tumbling IS HIS (meaning, I feel like I don't do quite as much). I am so very grateful that he was willing to join me in this project and do so much of the behind the scenes work - it really gives me a different perspective on media. We've got two down and ten to go! I've posted the first two here, but subscribe to "Say Hey, Doctor K" to get the rest of them for this year.

Everytime I post, I do get a little worried because youtube is so public. However, it's like I said in January "I can do hard things." Here's to 2014! If there's only one thing I accomplish this year, it will be to vlog!
